What is RELOC file?
Files with the .reloc file extension are usually used by programs that write to disk and read back in, such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel. The Windows program executes when the user clicks on it; however, when the program is run from a USB hard drive, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or network drive there is some risk of data corruption. Before writing a file to disk for this reason, programs would normally create a copy of the file that includes a signature at its start and end. These files would have different names but always include a .reloc extension because these files contain an executable section that contains relocation information.
